Designed particularly for students coming from the GCC Countries

GTCS, in cooperation with GEOS in LA-Costa Mesa, CA, USA, is proud to announce a 4 weeks summer 2010 program designed particularly for students coming from GCC Countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman).

This one month homestay English program includes a lot of fun activities such as visiting Disneyland and Hollywood. This program was designed to fit the GCC individuals who want to learn English in the USA during summer 2010.

 

 

Program Details and Schedule

 

Homestay Program and Student Residences
The GEOS Homestay Program is intended to give visiting foreign students a first-hand experience of American culture by sharing in everyday host family life. As well as being able to use practical English language skills they have learned in school, it is expected that students will be able participate in family activities for a holistic view of life in southern California; particularly Orange County.

 

A GEOS staff member visits each of our host families with students’ interests in mind. All families have also had a police background check. Our aim is to provide our students with a secure, educational and vibrant environment. Our host families live in safe, comfortable neighborhoods in Costa Mesa, Irvine, Huntington Beach, and surrounding areas.

 

Chaperon 24/7
GTCS is providing a 24/7 chaperon during the program who will travel with the group from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to the USA, stay with them during the program and will go back with them home after the program is finished. The chaperon speaks fluent English and Arabic, GEOS officials, students in the USA as well as their families in the Gulf region can reach him at any time to make sure things are going as planned and to solve any issues if necessary. This should be comforting to families who are sending their kids to participate in this program and also for the students themselves.

 
This program package includes the cost of all of the following:
  • Round trip air tickets.
  • 3 meals a day. As part of the experience, food will mainly be American (pork free).
  • Full Social, Activity, and Entertainment program. All entrances fees and tickets are included.
  • Formal English classes – 15 lessons per week in students tested class level.
  • Maximum of 14 students per class.
  • Qualified teachers.
  • All materials required for lessons.
  • Certificate of attendance.
  • Full-board accommodation in a friendly local American host family-Meals (free of pork or lard) that fits student needs (see the application form).
  • Health insurance during student stay in the USA.
  • All necessary transportation for the entertainment program and airport pick up and drop off.
  • Bus pass to be used for commuting from the host family to the English classes location and back
  • Chaperon who can be contacted 24/7 that speaks English and Arabic.
  • Another Chaperon from GEOS to accompany all excursions.
  • Placement test to assess the student English level and put in the appropriate level.
  • Help in issuing Tourist visa by sending a letter from Geos – Costa Mesa to your local US embassy.

  • Students must be 15 years old or older
  • The trip is one month -- 4 weeks program + days of travel
  • The group will leaves the GCC region July 10th and arrives back August 8th.
  • Last time to accept applications is end of June, 2010, if you already have an entry visa to the US. If you do not have a visa, the last day to accept applications is end of May, 2010 to allow for enough time to get the visa. NOTE: If you do not have a visa, we will help you to apply for a Tourist Visa by sending the local US embassy a letter that you were accepted in this program and need to get the visa to be able to participate.
  • The trip is one month -- 4 weeks program + days of travel
  • Cost for the whole package is SR45,000 per student. Application fee, to reserve your spot, is SR10,000. The remaining balance (SR35,000) must be paid no later than July 1st, 2010.

    What students to Expect for Accommodation:
  • Single or Double placed (not placed with same nationality or different gender)
  • full board homestay - including breakfast, sack lunch, dinner
  • Breakfast; fruit, cereal, yogurt, eggs, and etc.
  • Sack lunch; sandwich (hot or cold), fruit, snack bar, cheese, juice and/or soda. Food items the family can easily pack, and student is able to carry with them during the day.
  • Dinner; host families prepare hot meals for the whole family normally, and/or at least make sure a hot meal is prepared for the students. ALL MEALS WITHOUT PORK OR LARD
